Books That Changed My Life

Books are my biggest "vice".

I remember watching "The Hours" and seeing how Viginia Woolf's (Nicole Kidman) home was littered with books all over was a major "aha" moment for me. Reading Senor Enrique's blog entry today was another such moment. Ah. So I am not alone in my idiosyncracies after all. Also in his entry today was an interesting meme on what else, books. Though he didn't tag me, I decided to join in the fun. I hope you do too! Just add your name to Mr. Linkie's below. Bloggers and booklovers unite :) Here are the books that have changed my life...

One book that changed your life:

The Holy Bible, New International Version -- B.I.B.L.E. = Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth - better get it right while you have the time.

One book you have read more than once:

The Five People That You Meet In Heaven – everyone in your life has a reason for being and you don't stop loving someone just because they are gone. Interviewing Mitch Albom for the Philippine Daily Inquirer was a high point in my journalist's life.

One book you would want on a desert island:

Again, The Holy Bible. Simply because I know that HE will provide.

One book that made you laugh:

The entire Calvin and Hobbes collection. This is my best endorphin raiser of all time.

One book that made you cry:

Blessings by Ana Quindlen - awwww. Her love story really resonated with me. Read it to find out why. Hahaha.

One book you wish had been written:

Why You Need To Have God In Your Life - it would safe the whole world a whole lot of trouble.

One book you wish had never been written:

The Art of Seduction - I mean, what's the point?

One book you are currently reading:

Women Are Not Small Men: Life Saving Strategies of Preventing and Healing Heart Disease by Nieca Goldberg - women's hearts are stronger :) reading it to make sure I keep it healthy for the second half of life

One book you have been meaning to read:

Why People Don't Heal and How They Can by Carolyn Myss - to probe and fathom the mind-body connection further. It's sitting on my shelf as I blog...

Now it's your turn... Happy week-end!

Many many thanks, Cathy, for joining in! And what a listing you have.

Question: Are these books you mentioned available in Metro Manila, or did you buy them abroad?
